5 Ways to get More Engaged Social Followers

It's safe to stay that social media in business isn't just a passing trend. In fact, 80% of marketers have seen an increase in traffic as a direct result of their social media efforts.

But in order for your social media sites to be successful for your business you need to gain followers, but not just that they need to be engaged followers. So how do you do that?

Hey, I'm Hassan, social media exec here at Wyzowl. In this video I'm going to give you five tips for getting more engaged social followers.

Share Content that Matters

 

First up be sure to share content your audience cares about. This can help you become a regular source of information for your users. One company that does this really well is buffer. By sharing informative, useful content they've really established a loyal and engaged audience.

 

Keep it Balanced

 

Step two is to avoid being too self-promotional, this can really put people of your social profiles. We're big believers in the 5:3:2 strategy this is the idea that out every ten social posts five should be relevant content created by other people, three should be relevant content that you've created and two should be personal, non-work related stuff, just to help humanise you and your brand.

Visual

 

Next up remember to be visual, posts containing videos and images tend to perform much better than text only ones. One company that does this exceptionally well is GoPro.

You can create great branded images and you don't have to be a designer to do it. There are a couple of great tools that give total beginners the power to get visual. For example, check out Share As Image and Canva.

 

Interact!

 

Our next tip is to take the time to interact with people individually make sure to thank them for mentioning or retweeting your content. When you look at the best brands on social, even the biggest ones, they interact regularly with their followers. So have a look at Tesco Mobile, Nutella and Taco Bell for examples pf brands that do this really well.

 

Ask and they will Come

 

Finally, make sure you ask people to join in. Ask questions, run contests and hold votes. Nissan lead the way on this crowd sourcing one of their cars with audience voted features. Plenty of other top brands are involving their audiences in the same way.
