At the beginning of this year, we wrote a blog on the State of Video Marketing. We felt the need to blog about this topic because all of the video marketing stats that were floating around on the web were super-dated.
So, we created our own survey filled with all the questions that we think need answering in order to get up-to-date, relevant statistics from industry professionals, and now...
The results are in!We found that a lot of the results reaffirmed what we thought to be true, but it's always great to get confirmation! And, there were a few shockers in the mix too!
We found that the most popular videos for marketers are animated explainer videos, with 59% of video marketers saying they have created an animated explainer, and 44% agreeing that they primarily use animated explainers.
78% of video marketers said they considered video an important part of their marketing strategy, and 68% told us they feel video is essential for their business but, a whopping 77% of video marketers said they weren't sure if they could quantify their ROI from video marketing! This perhaps underscores a need for stronger analytics, and a closer measurement on the specific benefits of video.
Perhaps the most shocking statistic we discovered was that 90% of respondents aren't currently using short form videos, like Vines, in their marketing strategy. Vine is a great place to show a more human side of your brand through videos, and it is quickly becoming a favourite among consumers. Huge brands like Cadbury and Red Bull are taking advantage of the great awareness opportunities caused by Vine, and we expect that more brands will use Vine in 2015 and 2016.
